🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Members Share Frustration About Size Changes Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information. The second-hand shopping app has updated its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes without notifying every member regarding the update. Online Platforms Response Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a different size category compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with other platforms. It has advised users to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Size Classification Changes Previously, the sizes had both numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Experiences Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she explained. Necessary Adjustments Another shopper, located in England, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products". "For me this is particularly frustrating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Service Background The service features exceeding 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members. It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: last year, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
